On family day (newly celebrated Ontario public holiday), I had a date with my good’ol friend to watch this movie. Usually I read few reviews before I head to any movie; but this time just took off in my eagerness to spend some quality time with Ganjupatel. While driving on slippery icy road I wondered if this movie will turn out to be a disappointment. Anyway I was just happy to spend time with my girlfriend regardless.
As the movie started, I struggled to quickly read the subtitles and digest as much information possible..but still missed out on few history points in the process. Oh well, but overall the movie was good. It was a worthwhile trip. Besides I’ll always remember the quality time that I've spend with my dear Ganjupatel.
The music was soul-touching. It slightly reminded me of songs from the movie Lagaan. Perhaps there is something parallel in the two movie’s music. My favorite was Khwaja mere khwaja, this song is really uplifting. Personally, it reminds me of my childhood days at my maternal grandparent’s house every time I hear it. There was a Gurdwara across from grandparents place and during weekends the priests sung songs out loudly from the temple with harmonium, tabla, and tambourines. I dint enjoy it much as a child. However, I think my ears and maybe my unconscious mind definitely was paying attention to those tunes and embarked beauty of those musical instruments into me for good. Khwaja is a qawwali song and it literally gave me goose bumps. I could greatly feel the passion put into that piece of art by the song writer and composer. I absolutely loved it.
Jashn e bahaare, came second according to my taste. Javed Ali’s voice is sweet n suttle in this song. Drums played as part of the theme song were just superb especially with the visuals. I feel that Hrithik and Aishwarya did their best, neither of them overacted nor did their acting lack any substance.
I liked this movie for the message it portrayed. If Akbar indeed was a man with such an attribute as shown in the movie I admire him for that. His passion for harmony, benevolence, and respect for his partner, everything surely deserves a credit. Even in this generation, religious tolerance and harmony is something that is still non-existent in mindset of many South Asians. These genre of movies are mandatory as a gentle reminder. I don’t mind seeing it again.

Not necessarily the first one!
Hmm..after a long sabbatical Beepster had decided to return to blogging. My previous blogging is royally scrapped somewhere in the binaries. Nevertheless, I want to make a difference to my blogging habit this time. Great attempt is in the wish list for Beepsta this year :-)
